Momentum
Each year brings many accomplishments and milestones, but it was particularly evident in the past 5 months. Our first major destination event was held in Hawaii. Also, we planned and produced an IPO event for 1,000 guests in just 48 hours. At the same time, I've moved into new offices and in June, will also be opening a 1,300 s.f. studio/showroom in a historic building at The Granary. The showroom, with it's high ceilings, open beams and skylights, features our décor and floral designs, tabletop designs, and offers inspiration with seasonal vignettes and workshops. Here, I'll showcase my new collections private-label table linens and tabletop accessories that are making their debut this Fall. This metamorphosis will continue into 2008 when we are scheduled to open an East Bay office.
"My passion is in designing distinctive events inspired by artistic design and details, seamless logistics, and ultimately,in creating exceptional experiences for my clients and their guests."
Kaycee McKenzie
Open House
Our change of address was cause for celebration (viva la difference!). We rolled out the red carpet for the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce's official ribbon cutting at the end of March. The wall-to-wall crowd savored mouth-watering tapas, the sounds of acoustic guitar and beautifully embroidered and beaded taffeta linens from one of our couture lines. We embellished our offices with textural flower arrangements that included black magic roses, safari sunset protea, kangaroo paw, artichokes, grapes and tangerines, all caged in curly willow.

Aloha!
Adding to our tapestry of event services, one of our first major destination events was an incentive awards trip to Hawaii for Colliers International's top brokers. The setting was the Fairmont Orchid resort, located on the beautiful Kohala Coast. Working closely with both the Colliers and Fairmont management staff, we ensured that each of the brokers, their spouses or guests and children, 358 people in all, were treated to four days of 5-star service. We planned nine events, including a welcome reception, two cocktail parties, a sales meeting with a keynote speaker, a Hawaiian-themed teambuilding event, two kids' activities and a farewell reception. We also orchestrated a golf tournament at the world-renowned Mauna Lani resort, offering guests a taste of golf in paradise.
Leading up to the event, we sent a welcome photo packet via email to let brokers know who was going on the trip. We then updated and printed it for guests on arrival. We planned all events, including attendee lists, menus, audio visual, lighting, music, printing, amenity gifts and eight custom sets of nametags.
On site, we also designed and selected all floral from local sources in Hawaii. We maximized materials with an exotic range of colors and textures, from pin-cushion protea to red ginger, anthurium, monstera leaves and extraordinary orchids.
Aloha Oe (see you next year)!
"Your creativity is off the charts!"

It's 10:30 a.m. Monday at the office. The phone rings. An established client is on the line, asking to speak with Kaycee. Mission: design, produce and manage a top-notch and top-secret custom event for 1,000 people, taking place on Wednesday afternoon—two days from now! The answer? You bet!
Drawing upon a proven network of high-caliber industry professionals, we aligned a stealth team for catering, staffing, layouts, valet, signage and lighting, then tackled four major changes of venue and attendance. By Tuesday morning, the plan was in place.
The big reveal: On arrival Wednesday afternoon, we learned this was the IPO (initial public offering) announcement and celebration for a major Silicon Valley software company. Having worked with McKenzie Event Management on both an employee party for 1,600 at the de Young Museum and their Halloween party, company officials knew they could trust Kaycee and her team to get the job done quickly, confidentially and, moreover, exquisitely.
