Viva Las Vegas!

There’s nothing like a trip to Las Vegas to stir the senses and inspire new ideas.

McKenzie Event Management recently attended “The Special Event”, an industry conference hosted by the International Special Event Society (ISES). As you can imagine we were invited to participate in an array of amazing parties, seminars, more parties, a mind-boggling tradeshow, and my personal favorite this year…The Wedding Luncheon at Bellagio. It’s as much fun as it sounds!

The big news of the season is COLOR. Spirits are lifting, and the use of bold color themes are in. Two color trends stand out. Chocolate brown is seen everywhere from rich fabrics to influences in floral design. Lilac and chocolate is the hottest combination of the season; followed by chocolate paired with light pink, pale blue, or mint green. Even in food presentation, we see the use of chocolate fountains and carved chocolate sculptures (see photo top right).

The color pink is found in every shade from the palest of blush to the hottest tropical brights. One of our favorites is the pink bengaline table linen and chair covers (see photo below), trimmed with opal sequins and white pearls. Set the table with silver and crystal…it’s simply stunning.
